VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
IQRA acknowledges the valuable role of volunteers in pursuing quality education and personal excellence. Parents have always been upfront in supporting our school in many different ways. Moreover, members of the wider community have also played a major role in helping our school in various methods.
Therefore, we encourage volunteers to come forward and help us in the following areas: Traffic safety control, field tips, sports day, science fairs, fundraisings, book fairs and supervision duties.

FUNDRAISERS
Since QRA Islamic school is a non-profit educational institution, it organizes two major annual fundraising events (one in the fall and one in the spring). The school also organizes ongoing smaller fundraising activities throughout the year. The purpose of these fundraisings events is to support projects, educational programs, learning resources and sports activities. Your continued support will help us achieve our goal of excellence in academics and personal growth.
CASH & CREDIT CARD
Cash gifts are the most common form of support. Cheques should be made payable to Iqra Islamic School. Donations by credit card – Visa or MasterCard – are also usually received and can be transacted in person, in writing, or by phone.
PLEDGES
Iqra Islamic welcomes all pledges – a formal statement of a donor’s intention to make a contribution at a later date, or on an installment basis over a defined period. Please fill out and email or fax the attached pledge form or contact our accounting office if you would like to make this arrangement.
GIFTS OF TANGIBLE PROPERTY
IQRA welcomes any gift or support from its friends and well-wishers that contributes to improving its overall quality of education. Giving a gift of tangible property – typically referred to as a gift-in-kind – is another way of supporting the school. A gift-in-kind may be an item that the school needs and can use – e.g. overhead projectors, computers, etc – or an item the school may choose to sell. In order for a charitable tax receipt to be issued, the fair market value of the item(s) must be established, and this may require independent appraisal by a qualified expert.
